Objective To analyze the restorative effects of 3D printing-based photocurable composite resin on dental defects. Methods A total of 100 patients with dental defects admitted to our hospital from March 2020 to January 2023 were selected as study subjects. They were divided into a control group (49 cases) and a research group (51 cases). The control group received treatment with conventional photocurable composite resin, while the research group was treated with a combination of 3D printing technology and photocurable composite resin. The levels of inflammatory factors, pain intensity, masticatory efficiency, bite force, quality of life, A-grade compliance rate, clinical efficacy, and restorative effect were assessed and compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, both groups showed a significant reduction in C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) levels, and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores compared to pre-treatment values, with the research group demonstrating significantly lower levels than the control group. Additionally, masticatory efficiency, bite force, and Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14) scores increased in both groups, with significantly higher improvements observed in the research group (P<0.05). Furthermore, the research group exhibited a higher A-grade compliance rate, greater treatment efficacy, and superior restorative effect compared to the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of 3D printing-based photocurable composite resin in the treatment of dental defects effectively reduces inflammatory responses, alleviates pain, improves masticatory efficiency and bite force, leading to an improvement in quality of life and a higher A-grade compliance rate with better restorative effects. |
